Boxer's new strategy: Go after the 'bad hair' vote

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Sen. Barbara Boxer says she is going after the "bad hair" vote in response to a recent quip about her hairstyle by her opponent in this year's Senate race, Republican Carly Fiorina.

The three-term Democratic senator was in Sacramento on the second day of a statewide campaign tour highlighting job creation. She told The Associated Press she felt her campaign had the proper response after Fiorina was caught on an open mic describing the three-term senator's coif as "so yesterday."

At the time, Boxer's campaign said the senator would rather talk about jobs than her hair.

Boxer said Wednesday that if every person who ever had a bad hair day voted for her, she would win by a landslide
